Amiss of missing contemporary parenting
Amiss of missing contemporary parenting.
By Oyuke Phostine
The child,
My children(s),
My lovely daughter,
Oooh, even you sweet son,
Daddy misses you.
My children,
Odds you make me change,
Now see am singing,
Songs I never sung,
But I rhyme in you're accompaniment.
My Mercy,
In my tender age,
I always took care,
Of almost every thing,
I mean, the home chores.
My Sabatho,
But time has changed,
After your school homework,
You would ask,
Daddy help me,
Sing "Hickory Dickory Dock"
The song,
Your daddy never sung,
His childhood was ancient,
Full of "Yange yange"
Nipe kucha nyeupe".
As, I am trying to copying,
Copying with the contemporary,
Contemporary parenting,
It's only the way to do.
Bare with me,
As I do with,
You're twinkle twinkles,
As the ancients and the contemporaries,
Makes us complete unit,
Of daddy, daughter and son.

Relationships
Searching for something that may never be known,
mental disturbance turns a heart back to stone.
Create memories alone in your head,
holding you hostage as you lie in your bed.
Fits of despair have blinded your sight,
awaken to find you are losing the fight.
Rays of sunlight lead the way,
hurts from the past only keep you away.
Deception has caused your faith to stray,
simple gestures are life's way to say...
Release the burden that's wanted your stay,
crumble your thoughts and throw them away.
Discover a strength to start a new page,
no longer alone slipped from the cage.
Bruised and broken, you now can see
a glimpse of hope that may set your free.

It's Strange
It's strange the things you remember
And the things you seem to forget
It's a blessing of all sorts
Efforts of joys and regrets
You remember the days when you mess up
The days when sadness brings tears
But you forget all those small happy moments
When it's laughter that brings you to tears
If only we could be happy forever
To look forward, not think of the past
Our lives would be full of elation
With sadness a ghost of the past.

I will leave to tell the tale
Sometimes I look at you and my tears dwell within my eyes, sometimes I wonder if my life is a dream but it's not I know I deserve nothing dear absolutely nothing it's just you met someone who has done nothing to deserve all you have been offering, sometimes it pains me to the fact I want to do something in this world just to be able to share the little that life might offer. Dear you have the chance that I don't know if the heavens will give me, please do what pleases your heart, share the little because everyone has their own missions in this world, people are always born for others but not themselves. Be strong tomorrow is another day one can sleep and never wake up. You chose me and I will leave to tell your tale to the world of how kind you are.
We did not ask
We did not ask for this room or this music,
We were invited in,
therefore because the dark surrounds us let us turn our faces to the light,
Let us endure hardship to be grateful for plenty,
We have been given pain to be out standard by joy,
We have been given life to denie death,
We did not ask for this room or this music
But because we are here let us dance.
Because life will never give what we Always ask.

Meet Shary From Nairobi JAZZ LOUNGE OUTFIT
JAZZ LOUNGE OUTFIT INSPO
OCTOBER 30, 2017
Events are the perfect reason to dress up and look fabulous although in my experience, this can be quite the pickle. I’m the type of person who plans every intricate detail of their life so you can only imagine how intensely I plan my looks.
Okay enough rambling, the Safaricom Jazz Lounge is coming up this weekend. Jazz Lounge is basically a feel good event with lots of great jazz music (as the name suggests haha) and what’s even better is that all proceeds from the event go towards supporting the Ghetto Classics, a non-profit program that teaches music skills to the youth from underprivileged backgrounds. (Click http://safaricomjazzfestival.co.ke/ for more details)
So just in case you’re struggling with what to wear for this event, or any other event, I got you covered. I collaborated with my good friend Dhvani, who also happens to be a blogger, here’s more on her: https://ramblingsandsnaps.wordpress.com
For the first look, I wore a royal blue mermaid dress which I had tailored for my graduation and I’ve been in love with it since then, so much that I haven’t worn it since then. I just love looking and admiring it in my closet. The great thing about mermaid dresses is that they extenuate your curves, which is definitely a great thing! Dhvani wore a detailed blue umbrella skirt paired with a bright yellow top, which really reflects her very bright personality.

For the second look, we leaned more towards my style, which is basically a lot of black and white/ monochrome. If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with anything black and white. I went with a simple Posh t-shirt paired with basic black jeans and chunky sock boots. Dhvani wore a plain black body suit with a monochrome skirt paired with polka dot pumps.
